Arthur Timothy Read is the main protagonist of the four Arthur Living Books PC games: Arthur's Teacher Trouble, Arthur's Birthday, Arthur's Reading Race and Arthur's Computer Adventure and the main deuteragonist of D.W. the Picky Eater. He is the oldest of three children and is voiced by Duncan Wold in Arthur's Teacher Trouble, Henry Dawson in Arthur's Birthday, and Ben Ellis in Arthur's Reading Race, Arthur's Computer Adventure and D.W. the Picky Eater.

- There is a TV show called "Arthur" in 1996 by PBS Kids which often stars Arthur Read.
- His favorite ice cream flavor is chocolate especially when (in ice cream) has the choice between chocolate or vanilla anytime. This was revealed in Arthur's Reading Race. In Arthur's Reading Race, D.W. Read got strawberry ice cream and Arthur got chocolate for himself (since he had the choice between chocolate or vanilla). The ice cream store also had chocolate and vanilla, and when Arthur had the choice between those two, he chose chocolate. In Arthur's Birthday he loves chocolate cake with white icing.
- He hates anything vanilla, with the exception of vanilla icing on chocolate cake, which he loves.
- He hates pet cats.
- His favorite color is yellow, along with red and blue.
- His favorite food is pancakes with maple syrup (this was seen in Arthur's Birthday).
- Arthur and D.W. are the only characters from the "Arthur" franchise which appears in all the "Arthur" Living Books games (including D.W. the Picky Eater).
