Maggie's Farmyard Adventure is a game in the Living Books series, released in 1997. The book is an interactive story of the adventure of Maggie's cat. There are also modes to take part in games relating to the story, and to sing songs with Maggie's mother. In the interactive storybook mode, as the story is read, the objects in the background are clickable.
Trivia[]
- The CD-ROM of the game was only packaged along with another Living Books game Eager's Pet Show! as part of the Preschool Success Starter box set.
- This is considered another Living Books game along with The Tortoise and the Hare, Ruff's Bone, and Harry and the Haunted House to have not been an adaption of an existing book.
- This is one of only two Living Books games (the other being Eager's Pet Show!) where the program first opens with the Broderbund logo, as well as the Living Books intro appearing afterward and not first.
- In addition, the Living Books intro is shortened here, not having the Broderbund Software, Inc. byline.
- This is one of only three Living Books games (the other two being The Cat in the Hat and Eager's Pet Show!) that use the third instrumental variant of the Living Books theme from 1997. However, it is shortened down here.
- This is one of only three Living Books games (the other two being Eager's Pet Show! and D.W. The Picky Eater) where the main menu is in an entirely different background from the setting of the story and not inlayed into a storybook border.
- However, the generic storybook background only appears in the Quit page.
- You leave the book when Maggie says, "Okay, goodbye!" (if "Yes" is clicked). But you may want to keep playing the game if you click "No". The "Yes" character is the pig and the "No" character is the sheep.
- This is another Living Books game to use a different credits sequence and not the one with jazz animations.
